common city water problems and revolutionary solutions
Taste and color
Symptoms: While not causing any physical harm this problem is an irritating inconvenience, to say the least.
Cause: Tastes and Odors in your water come from many things including chlorine, decaying organic matter and dissolved gases or minerals. The presence of hydrogen sulfide, which has a distinct rotten egg like smell, can also be a cause.
Treatment: Common tastes and odors are eradicated when they travel through the carbon filter in our home systems. The presence of hydrogen sulfide is taken away after TechnoPure's® oxidation as it travels through TechnoPure's tank filled with birm media.
iron
Symptoms: Iron is an easy problem to detect; iron and manganese in your water leaves stains everywhere from sinks and tubs to clothing and linens. It can also cause scale in pipes and make your water look and smell terrible.
Cause: While there are different types of iron (bacterial, clear water, and red water). Iron is dissolved during the passing of ground water through iron-bearing rocks. It can also be caused, usually temporarily, by water sitting in iron pipes.
Treatment: TechnoPure's systems use a patented oxidation method which makes the iron larger and more filterable. The iron is then easily filtered away as it travels through TechnoPure's birm tank.
chemicals and contaminants
Symptoms: Chemicals are generally only detectable using professional testing
Cause: Chemicals and other contaminants are both man-made and natural. See the EPA chart for causes.
Treatment: Depending on type and amount of contaminant there are many different treatments.TechnoPure's Oxidation process makes these contaminants more filterable removing more chemicals then anyone else. For TechnoPure's system's ability to filter these chemicals out see the Proven Guidelines chart.
Hard Water
Symptoms: This is an easy one to spot. Hard water leaves a ring in bathtubs and sinks comprised of minerals and soap. It also collects on shower walls, clings to hair and clogs skin pores. The effects of hard water lead to a difficult time cleaning. Overtime hard water will cause clogging of pipes, reduce the efficiency of hot water heaters, and shorten the life of your appliances.
Cause: Hard water is created when water absorbs calcium and magnesium as it travels through rock formations found in our environment.
Treatment: TechnoPure's electronic water conditioning system softens water without the use of salt or magnets. Beneficial minerals, such as calcium, are left in the water and converted to their soft soluble form. These healthy minerals are now available to your body leaving you feeling very clean, giving your skin and hair a more youthful look and feel!
Acidic Water
Symptoms: Acid water cannot be detected by the physical properties of water (feel or odor). The problem of having acid water can be seen as a blue-green stain on plumbing fixtures. It also corrodes chrome faucets, copper fittings, and pipes. One of our TechnoPure professionals can test for the degree of acidity in your home's water.
Cause: Acid water is caused when water passes through hard rock and is not able to absorb any minerals or other materials. The absence of minerals leaves water in a "hungry state" as it travels into your home, resulting in water that eats away everything in its path.
Treatment: TechnoPure's oxidation / ionization process naturally raise the waters pH level. In extreme cases TechnoPure's system would require the installation of a third neutralizer tank.
Chlorine
Symptoms: Chlorine in your home's water can be detected largely by taste and odor. Over time it will corrode your water pipes and plumbing fixtures. On a larger scale chlorine and the byproducts it forms have been directly linked as hazardous to humans.*
Cause: This is largely found in your water due to the fact that chlorine is used as a treatment in your water supply.
Treatment: TechnoPure's carbon filter eliminates all chlorine in your water. TechnoPure's unique oxidization chambers keep all the cleaning properties of chlorine without the use or side effects of chlorine while removing any chlorine in your water left from municipalities or any other source
Turbidity
Symptoms: Turbidity is quite simply dirty water caused by dirt or other suspended materials in your water. Turbidity can be detected by a visual inspection. Turbid water is more then just unpleasant to look at; it can be detrimental to your small water-bearing openings and cause deterioration of valves, seats, and washers.
Cause: Turbidity is caused by run-off of dirt, sand, and other organic materials into water supplies and wells.
Treatment: TechnoPure removes turbidity by flocculating (making larger) the suspended materials and trapping it in the media tanks, leaving the water clean and dirt free.
man made water problems
Today's technology provides benefits in many areas of everyday life. At times this comes at the cost of our environment. Our water is extremely susceptible to toxins and pollutants left behind from improper disposal of chemicals and compounds that have been created in recent years.
Fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides are washed into our streams, rivers, lakes, and wells by rainwater. Petrochemical spills and leaks absorb into our underground aquifers.
THE CHEMICALS USED TO TREAT OUR CITIES' WATER SUPPLIES AND THE BYPRODUCTS FORMED HAVE BEEN DIRECTLY LINKED AS A HAZARDOUS TO OUR HEALTH.
