Taste and Odor

Symptoms: While not causing any physical harm this problem is an irritating inconvenience, to say the least.

Cause: Tastes and Odors in your water come from many things including chlorine, decaying organic matter and dissolved gases or minerals. The presence of hydrogen sulfide, which has a distinct rotten egg like smell, can also be a cause.

Treatment: Common tastes and odors are eradicated when they travel through the carbon filter in our home systems. The presence of hydrogen sulfide is taken away after TechnoPure's® oxidation as it travels through TechnoPure's tank filled with birm media.

Iron

Symptoms: Iron is an easy problem to detect; iron and manganese in your water leaves stains everywhere from sinks and tubs to clothing and linens. It can also cause scale in pipes and make your water look and smell terrible.

Cause: While there are different types of iron (bacterial, clear water, and red water). Iron is dissolved during the passing of ground water through iron-bearing rocks. It can also be caused, usually temporarily, by water sitting in iron pipes.

Treatment: TechnoPure's systems use a patented oxidation method which makes the iron larger and more filterable. The iron is then easily filtered away as it travels through TechnoPure's birm tank.

Treatment: Depending on type and amount of contaminant there are many different treatments. Hard Water

Symptoms: This is an easy one to spot. Hard water leaves a ring in bathtubs and sinks comprised of minerals and soap. It also collects on shower walls, clings to hair and clogs skin pores. The effects of hard water lead to a difficult time cleaning. Overtime hard water will cause clogging of pipes, reduce the efficiency of hot water heaters, and shorten the life of your appliances.

Cause: Hard water is created when water absorbs calcium and magnesium as it travels through rock formations found in our environment.

Treatment: TechnoPure's electronic water conditioning system softens water without the use of salt or magnets. Acidic Water

Chlorine

Cause: This is largely found in your water due to the fact that chlorine is used as a treatment in your water supply.

In addition to man-made problems that occur, there are many contaminants that are picked up in the natural hydrological cycle of water.

The types of byproducts and chemicals absorbed into our water vary depending on environment and surroundings. Water that passes through shale, limestone, and other soft rocks will dissolve and carry calcium and magnesium from those rocks into our homes. This, in turn, causes hard water problems. Water that travels through granite, marble and other extremely hard rock areas absorbs nothing and remains acidic. Acidic water then begins to eat away plumbing pipes and fixtures when it enters our homes.

Water that passes through iron-bearing rock dissolves and absorbs the iron and this causes rust stains and other problems in our homes.

The water cycle - technically known as the hydrologic or hydrological cycle - is the continuous circulation of water within the Earth's hydrosphere, and is driven by solar radiation. This includes the atmosphere, land, surface water and groundwater.

As water moves through the cycle, it changes state between liquid, solid, and gas phases. Water moves from compartment to compartment, such as from river to ocean, by the physical processes of evaporation, precipitation, infiltration, runoff, and subsurface flow.

It is this runoff that washes chemicals from the ground into our aquifers.

The Facts About Electronic Water Softening

In the simplest of terms the incoming minerals have a charge imparted on them when passing through the electric filed created by the TECHNOPURE-1000/2000. This charge prevents the calcium ions from coming in contact with each other the same way to north ends of a magnet repel one another. This repulsion prevents the calcium from building up into scale. Although it does not reduce the concentration of calcium it does increase the solubility. The apparent effects are the same as water that has a reduced calcium concentration.

The fact of the matter is, electronic water conditioners are de-scaling tools. This is their primary job in the water treatment industry. During the process, energy is induced to the minerals which pass through the electronic water conditioner. As water flows through it, the hard water minerals take on a different crystalline structure form when precipitated. The water develops an increased solubility factor which helps it absorb more of whatever the water may be mixed with downstream.

These reactions are physical rather than chemical, so there is no change in the water make-up. In addition to visual results, physical tests are available to show the positive mechanical changes such as increased water flow and improved heat transfer efficiency in heavily-scaled plumbing systems.
